Looking back at my career, turning things around has always been a theme. It started small—turning around a team, or a product—and gradually became more challenging: corporate functions, business units and eventually an entire company.
I’ve had the privilege of leading global organizations across Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Americas. From driving cultural transformations, to navigating tight budgets and tackling double-digit growth targets, I’ve done it. As CEO, I’ve turned around the company on the brink of collapse and set it on a path of sustainable, profitable growth. I’ve faced so many types of “fix this!” situations over the years, and looking back — they all fall into the same category: turnarounds.
I’ve learned the hard way that turnarounds—whether in business or life—are rarely straightforward. They’re complicated, unpredictable, and full of moments that make you question everything. But they’re also incredibly rewarding. They teach you so much about yourself, about people, and about life.
I started this blog to share the lessons I’ve learned along the way. To write about the struggles, the setbacks, and the small victories that make the journey worthwhile. My hope is that these stories and insights help you navigate your own business challenges, and inspire you to turn stuff around.
Best,
Daniel
